How to Connect Shopify to Looker Studio in 3 Minutes

If you run a Shopify store, you already know how powerful your data can be. But pulling it into a clean, shareable dashboard has always been a pain — until now.

Why Looker Studio?

Google Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio) is a free, powerful reporting tool that lets you build interactive dashboards. Unlike Shopify's built-in analytics, Looker Studio lets you combine multiple data sources, customize every chart, and share live reports with your team or clients.

Step 1: Find the Connector

Open Google Looker Studio and click "Create" → "Data Source". Search for "Shopify Connector by LookerCenter" in the community connector gallery. Click it to begin.

Step 2: Authorize Your Store

You'll be asked to enter your Shopify store name (the part before .myshopify.com). Then click "Authorize" — this opens a Shopify OAuth popup where you grant read-only access to your orders, products, and customers.

LookerCenter never stores your raw data. We use encrypted OAuth tokens to fetch data on-demand, with a 5-minute cache for performance.

Step 3: Build Your Dashboard

Once connected, you can either start from scratch or clone our pre-built Shopify E-commerce Dashboard template. The template includes 5 pages covering sales overview, product performance, customer insights, traffic sources, and order analysis.

What Data Can You Access?

The connector provides ~40 fields including: Order ID, Customer Email, Product Title, Financial Status, Fulfillment Status, Gross Sales, Net Sales, AOV, Shipping Country, Sales Channel, Discount Code, and many more.

Pro Tips

Date range filters: Always add a date range control to your dashboard. This lets viewers filter data without editing the report.
Blended data: If you also use our Meta Ads connector, you can blend Shopify revenue with Meta spend to calculate true ROAS.
Scheduled email: Use Looker Studio's built-in email scheduling to send weekly PDF reports to stakeholders.
